Automation Technology, Inc. Announces the Release of AWARE Version 7.0, the Equipment Knowledge Retention Solution for OEM's, Service Providers, & Equipment Owners

SAN JOSE, CA - 5/4/2007 - San Jose, CA – May 1, 2007 - Automation Technology, Inc. (ATI) announces the release of AWARE Version 7.0 with many new enhancements through out the family of AWARE modules.  This new release further positions AWARE as the market leader for managing and retaining your equipment knowledge.

Salient list of enhancements made for AWARE Version 7.0 include the following:

Web Interface

• Major performance improvements have been achieved when opening or selecting a system in the Work Package.
• Aware forms can be configured to display radio buttons or check boxes instead of a list box.  This makes it easier for the users to select pick list values as all the options are displayed simultaneously.
• Aware users are given an option to send e-mails using the e-mail client on their machine if the server e-mail fails or is not configured.
• Pictures saved in Aware can be edited using a picture editor on the client machine.  This is useful to insert callouts and comments on the picture itself.

Synchronization

• Data can be exported and imported directly (without installing software on the client machine).  This is useful for importing scripts used to add units and/or equipment.

Search/Query
• Selecting multiple events in prompts is now supported.
• Improvements have been made in the way users are prompted in stored queries.
• Queries across multiple tables with the same column names is now supported.

Reporting

• The performance of loading systems during report generation has been improved by a factor of 5.
• Generating reports with large number of data and pictures against Windows 2003 Servers is now supported.

Forms

• Aware (custom) forms can display the Create Date, Create User Name, Modify Date, and Modify User Name for activities.

Visual Aware

• A Top View has been added to Visual Aware.  This is useful to locate failures and UTT information for horizontal boiler pressure parts and HRSGs.  Information is accurately depicted for staggered tubes (HRSGs) in the Front and Top views.
• Contents of the drawing window can be copied into clipboard for pasting into other applications.
• Visual Aware now allows inserting, viewing or editing pictures.
• Visual Aware now supports adding new replacement materials.
• Tube and panel replacements for Failure and Repairs activities are color-coded based on the replacement material (unless overridden by selected criteria).  These replacements are overlaid on the drawing to depict the latest materials used even without making changes to the drawing.
• Users can now select a path for tube replacements when multiple paths exist.
• The length of replaced tubing is calculated and stored.
• Enhancements have been made to calculate the wear rate more reliably based on closest historical measurement values for a selected location.  Users are provided an option to consider closest point on the selected tube or closest point across multiple tubes.
• Search results can be loaded and displayed on the drawing.

Mobile Aware

• ActiveSync 4.2 is now supported..
• New activities that are created as a result of data being entered using Mobile Aware will have an activity date determined by the rules listed below.  Previous versions always used the Open date of the event.

1) The date/time that the event is updated on the server.
2) The open date of the event if the item 1 date/time is before the event open date.
3) The close date of the event if the item 1 date/time is after the event close date.

• The time-out for several operations has been increased from 100 seconds to 300 seconds (5 minutes).  .

Database Administration
• Aware users can connect to an Oracle or SQL Server database using a single backend account.  In previous versions, Aware users were required to have individual back-end account in the database. In most cases a database administrator (DBA) had to be involved to create a new Aware user.  The Aware administrator can now maintain users without the involvement of a DBA.
