TXU Selects ATI's Aware BTF Module and Migrates Away From Existing Legacy System

SAN JOSE, CA - 4/1/2004 - Automation Technology, Inc. (ATI), a supplier of Collaborative Asset Management solutions for the energy industries, is pleased to announce that TXU has acquired ATI's AWARE product for managing boiler tube failure statics on their boiler fleet. This move was driven by a need to improve documentation and management of knowledge pertaining to the condition of boilers, and easily utilize that knowledge to plan for future outages.

TXU used a competitors solution before switching over to ATI's AWARE product.  Due to the lack of support and obsolescense of the competitors product offering, TXU elected to upgrade to ATI's AWARE product.

TXU has installed the web-based AWARE product in a central office with access provided to multiple plant sites in the state of Texas. Boiler inspections that are performed during outages are documented in AWARE, and the information is immediately accessible from personnel at the central office as well as throughout the plant.

Forced outages that occur due to tube failures are also documented in AWARE. This enables TXU the ability to centralize knowledge pertaining to tube failures across multiple plants, enabling engineers to analyze failure trends. By doing this, regulatory reporting is streamlined and standardized from one central location as well.
